Empowering people to live with independence and confidence. That’s what Supported Living is all about.

Supported Living in West Yorkshire is a flexible service that we provide either in our homes or within a person’s current home. Our dedicated teams tailor support with a focus on building independence while always making sure individuals have real choice about where they live, who with, how they’re supported and what life looks like for them.

Home Features

Those we support may live in a flat or house share, or their current home.

Bedrooms and private spaces are personalised to the individual’s likes, interests, and routines. In our house share environments, communal areas are thoughtfully maintained and set up in a way that supports shared living while still respecting individual needs and boundaries. Homes come with a kitchen to support the development of independent living skills, and access to well-kept outdoor spaces, such as gardens or driveways.

There are sometimes extra sleep facilities available to allow team members to be on hand for 24-hour support when needed.

The People We Support have access to shops, cafés, pubs, parks, sports groups like the Learning Disability Rugby League (LDRL), GP surgeries, pharmacies, and public transport links to help encourage independence, choice, and opportunities to be part of the wider community.

It’s brilliant, the community knows I have a learning disability and they all support me, I have made loads of new friends in the rovers return, I enjoy going with my roommate, and he has introduced me to new people since living in the community, I am able to do more things for myself and go out into the community on my own, I now order my own medication, I have been supported to do this on an app, I now do this myself. I can do more stuff for myself, I like going out local to Wakefield on the bus, I’m working on going to the cinemas on my own.
