Sunnywell
People aren’t just accepted at Sunnywell. They’re empowered to be the best versions of themselves.
At Sunnywell, we support those with moderate to severe learning disabilities, and autism, including those with mental health needs and complex histories. Based in a small village on the outskirts of Barnsley, South Yorkshire, it’s a warm and homely setting, with all the support individuals need from our dedicated teams and therapists.
Encouraging everyday routines is key to our approach here. People are supported to plan holidays, attend appointments, stay in touch with family and take part in house meetings. It’s all about taking steps to grow in confidence and independence.

Surroundings
There is a small high street with shops, cafes, pubs, and places to eat, as well as two supermarkets and two GP surgeries all within a short walking distance of the apartments.
Plus, people we support here can also enjoy trips to the local park, whether it’s a peaceful walk or feeding the ducks, or spending time at the nearby library. The village also has great transport links to Barnsley, Wakefield and Pontefract.
